Dr. Tracy E. Green DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CPN is a board certified family nurse
practitioner who started her healthcare career at the age of 16 when she worked as a
feeder tech at a local nursing home assisting patients who had difficulty feeding
themselves. She completed her Associate of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of
Science in Nursing in 1997 and 1999 from Troy University in Montgomery, Alabama
while serving in the U. S. Army Reserves. She has worked as a registered nurse in the
following areas of nursing: Addiction Recovery, Psych, Maternal Child (PICU, NICU,
and Postpartum-Mother/Baby), School Health Nursing in Italy, and Acute Care
Pediatrics (received Nurse of the Year for Pediatrics and Nurse of the Year of
Maternal/Child Division at Tampa General Hospital). She has worked as an nurse
practitioner in the following areas: Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and Radiation Oncology.
Education has always been her passion and this led her to obtain a certification as a
pediatric nurse (CPN) and later to the University of South Florida where she received her
Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2010 and
she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. After getting
comfortable in her new role as a primary care provider she returned to the academic
setting and completed the Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the
University of Alabama in August 2015 where she received the Innovation in Practice
Award for her DNP project entitled “Early identification and treatment of PAD in type 2
diabetes: Utilization of an evidence-based algorithm and ABI assessments.” Dr. Green is
also a Visiting Professor of 8 years for the Chamberlain College of Nursing and teaches
nurse practitioner students in the field of maternal and child health nursing. She is a
student of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and the Functional Nutritional
Alliance. Her goal is to make functional medicine accessible and affordable for everyone.
